Steven Check  

Check Capital Management is a relatively unique firm in the marketplace. We often find that when new clients find us, they say, wow, this is what I've been looking for all my life.  

Early on in my career, I was introduced to Warren Buffett's investment approach. We try to buy high quality companies. We try to buy into those high-quality companies at attractive prices and then we're usually relatively long-term holders of those company stocks.

We feel like sticking to the tried and true that have been around for a long period of time is the right way to go. We're very specific about how we go about jumping into an investment. We want to go into all the details. We want to take a deep dive, understand the fundamentals of our businesses and spend all of our time focused in that arena.

We have our own money and our families money managed right alongside of our clients money and we really do what we think is right for our clients.

The two-bucket approach is basically our form of diversification where clients are living off the short-term assets and the long-term assets are committed money that you shouldn't have to tap into for three to five years or longer.

Check Capital Management offers a performance-based management fee where we get paid only when clients make money.

It helps us align with our client interests a lot more. In that we're incentivized to do well with them over the long haul.
